Cognate with Arabic "mar'"/"mar'[t]"

[edit]

Is this cognate with the Arabic mar' مرء (also emre' امرئ) and its feminine form mar'a مرأة (also emra'a[t] امرأة)?

Noticing that in Arabic dialects that don't have a hamza this would be "mar[i]", which is not used in modern Arabic, but the feminine "mara" مرة is.

– Not the primary topic for this very ambiguous trigram. And dab title seems to fit sentence case better than all caps. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 04:42, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
