Who provided the funds for the 1160 restoration?
[edit]Whilst the present text suggests the Holy Roman Emperor, and therefore a Catholic, the linked site http://www.cchp.ps/index.php?lang=en&page=1233682699417 offers the Byzantine Emperor, which would appear to make more sense given that it is now an Orthodox church. Location of the site
[edit]As usual when it comes to locations in Jerusalem, especially East Jerusalem, we can't use the Israeli point of view that it is just one part, all belonging to Israel. This monastery is close to Gilo and Givat HaMatos and they are not in the "southern" part of the Jerusalem. --IRISZOOM (talk) 01:45, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
