Just a discrepancy...in the first paragraph, it states that Terry was planning to run 5,000 km. But later on, it said he stopped short of his goal in Thunder Bay, after ~5300 kilometres. I believe he was following the Trans-Canada highway, which is close to 8000 km long. Can someone please clarify?
edit: "After 18 months and running over 5,000 kilometres (3,107 miles) to prepare, Terry started his run in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 12, 1980 with little fanfare." source: http://www.terryfoxrun.org/english/about%20terry%20fox/default.asp?s=1
