What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Taking article back to prior state[edit]

The article prior to a series of (apparent) COI edits in September 2011 was, to my mind, a better article - it was primarily about the subject rather than about the various teams he's been affiliated with over the past decade or so; and perhaps more importantly, had actual citations to sources. It was a little bit out of date (not fully reflecting the subject's departure from his most recent position for instance) but with a bit of tweaking I think it served well. I plan to restore that version after cleaning it up a bit absent sound objections from other editors. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 10:53, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Revert COI edits[edit]

JohnInDC (talk · contribs) and I have discussed the value of reverting this article to its version prior to the start of blatant COI editing. (I.e. this version). If there are no objections, I'll move forward with that reversion. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:20, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, no objection from me of course. As I've noted, that earlier version is of a more appropriate length to the subject, and also included a lot of what appear to be proper references. As it currently stands, following the COI edits, the article's got a lot of stuff in it about the teams with which the subject has been associated, but little or nothing about - well, the subject. Plus all of it is entirely unreferenced. JohnInDC (talk) 16:55, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and did it - the prior article was much more succinct and on point. It had a few typos and clumsy phrases in it, which I fixed; I also removed some of the subject's earlier coaching positions from the infobox as either unsourced or trivial. I may have made some errors in patching the page back together, and welcome any corrections - but I ask that additional material of the kind removed not be restored without proper third-party sources describing not only the events, but the subject's actual role in them.
