Carne's lover is described as "on-time". Unless he was remarkably punctual I presume this is an error. But is it an error for "one-time" or "long-time"? Someone in the know please correct! 142.68.219.110 (talk) 00:44, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lesaffre

[edit]

You might want to add that Carné and Lesaffre are (now, since Lesaffre's death in 2009) buried together in Carné's tomb in the cemetery of St Vincent in Montmartre (see http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_Lesaffre as reference). Lesaffre was also sole heir to Carné's estate. Whilst it is certainly true that "Carné was gay and made little secret about it", I suspect the issue was a bit more fraught for Lesaffre, whose public image was that of being a "man's man" (he had been boxing champion of the French Navy, inter alia) --- during his life he constantly dodged the issue (indeed he was married twice himself), and when pressed said his and Carné's relationship was one of "homosensuality" rather than homosexuality --- make of that what you will... 猫に小判 15:04, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
