Religion

[edit]

Ebrard is not religious at all. He has been an outspoken critic of the Catholic Church and its dogmas about women's rights and abortion. He was actually excommunicated (or at least threatened) by the Church in 2007.[1][2]--148.202.176.210 (talk) 00:57, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marcelo Ebrard

[edit]

Let me be the first to contribute to this talk page. Ebrard will probably become a very prominent figure in Mexican Politics and will most certainly have many trying to post their opinions on his Wikipedia Article. I encourage all contributors to keep additions objective and documented. Schicchi 14:41, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Aille, the reference to Roche-Bobois will probably have to be removed, since it will be difficult to document; I did add a reference to the article on Le Monde and an article on "El Universal" that refers the text I added on Camacho. Schicchi 14:15, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No complaints. The Universal article refers to Roche-Bobois as well as the Palacio, so that's covered. That Ricardo Alemán column is good reading, too. Aille 18:45, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like the controversy fragment is not documented at all. A good source could be [3] The fact that the chief of the federal police forces was also removed by the president is not mentioned. Also, for the sake of neutrality, many would not consider right-wing articulist Ricardo Aleman as a reliable source. --Transfinito 07:10, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Transfinito, you may not like what Alemán writes, but I have read articles on which he severely criticizes the right-wing, I don't think you can rightfully call him right-wing at all. Also, he writes in "El Universal", which is a newspaper with an impeccable reputation for being neutral. Using the same logic al references to "La Jornada" would have to be removed from Wikipedia. Please note that I have removed the wedding registry entry. Why does it belong here. Should we include the EXORBITANT (by Mexican standards) price of FC's home on his page, which (i believe the LATimes) valued at over 500K dollars (i can find the citation if necessary). Perhaps we should also the names of the hotels where FC stays, when he travels!!! Let's try to remain objective. [[[User:66.73.160.144|66.73.160.144]] 21:53, 18 October 2006 (UTC)]

Dear anonymous user. The wedding registry section was discussed among users and documented with validated references, I see no reason to remove it. If you want to add or remove information to another page please discuss it on the corresponding entry. Schicchi 11:45, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The alleged reasons for not ceasing Martin Huerta are that he had no direct command of the federal police, whereas Ebrard was the higher direct commander of the city police. Moreover, the highest commander of the federal police was ceassed by Vicente Fox. The "controversy" section seems to have been written with bias against Fox. 189.146.7.235 (talk) 08:54, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Almost every Wikipedia page concerning a politician with a current governmental position talks about what he has done as leader. I dispute, therefore, the neutrality of this article because it only talks about controversies. He is a prominent figure in Mexican politics, one of the leaders of the opposition and the head of state of one of the most populous cities in the world. I suggest they talk about his actions as head of state of the Federal District in an objective way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.136.169.111 (talk) 19:03, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The bit of text stating that Ebrard is 'homosexual' is irrelevant, not backed by any credible source and seems politically motivated. I do not believe a serious entry on Ebrard should contain this kind of biased information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.217.27.41 (talk) 04:23, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Separation of Church and State

[edit]

I believe a special mention should be made regarding Ebrard's position as the only politician to mention the separation of church and state during the current controversies regarding homosexual marriage in Mexico City Schicchi (talk) 16:28, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jewish

[edit]

We need references regarding his supposed jewish background. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Garland Strife (talkcontribs) 19:22, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 13:15, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
