An article published from 2013, giving endorsement to a primary source, is not an "old source", nor has it been shown to be questioned or superseded by other theories (a requirement per WP:OLDSOURCES). The removal of Cercel's attested Albanian heritage (at a random place in the text, mind you) seems to be a user's whim, which is specifically not what we do on wikipedia.
