I quite agree these should be decided individually. There's nothing wrong per se about having a artist-created drawing for a portrait – but the threshold for such an image to be actually useful is a high one. Drawing portraits is hard. The problem about this one, File:Margaret Maruani.jpg is that, while superficially looking as if it was competently done, it doesn't actually resemble the subject very much (which you can easily verify by comparing it with photographs on the web). As such, it's distorting and misleading, and therefore useless. Fut.Perf. 18:30, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
