Prominent? feast days[edit]

What are the criteria for choosing the feast days in the list? The list is very irregular. The feast day of Our Lady of Knock is hardly prominent. Why not also include Our Lady of La Salette? The list needs to be revised; perhaps a section on the Marian feasts in the Roman Missal and another on the other feast days. I may just do that later in the week if there is no further discussion. Caeruleancentaur (talk) 16:41, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I like the idea of dividing the Catholic section into ones approved in the Roman Missal and then other ones celebrated, since Catholicism has so many different marian feasts. --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 18:15, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as Caeruleancentaur said there seems to be need for a fix and your idea will start that. Then the question will be which feasts (and then titles - a much larger question) are major. History2007 (talk) 19:05, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Feasts and titles[edit]

Given that each feast is almost always associated with a title, please see: Talk:Titles_of_Mary#References.2C_tables_and_feasts and provide ideas if combining these two may make sense, or create too long an article. Thanks. History2007 (talk) 10:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anglicanism[edit]

Why is there no section on Anglicanism? The Anglican Communion has many marian feast days, including the Nativity of Mary, Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin, Conception of the Virgin Mary, Falling Asleep of the Blessed Virgin, Purification of the Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Our Lady of Walsingham. A subsection should be added to the article. --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 21:55, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that is right. And you do have the correct Anglican feasts. Those are the only ones, and the ref for it is: Schroedel, Jenny The Everything Mary Book, 2006 ISBN 1593377134 page 84. And there are more Orthodox feasts than have been mentioned, but I do not have a complete list of those. History2007 (talk) 22:02, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Here are some Feasts of Orthodoxy that are not in the article yet:

Does anyone know the day for the feast of Our Lady of Walsingham? --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 21:45, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is October 15 for Anglicans and Sep 24 for Catholics as of 2001. History2007 (talk) 05:58, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 21:51, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orthodox[edit]

Does the Orthodox section also include feast days in the Oriental Orthodox Churches? --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 21:31, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Other denominations[edit]

Do any other denominations, sects, or churches celebrate Marian feast days besides Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Anglicans, and Lutherans? --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 21:31, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If they do, would be very small, because most books I have looked at do not mention it beyond the ones you named. History2007 (talk) 21:37, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
