Thank you to Wiki reviewers[edit]

On Sept. 20, 2014 I am writing to thank those who took the time to review the 'orphan' post that appeared under my name a few days ago. I very much appreciate that my concerns were considered and changes made. I am not skilled in posting to wiki. If I was, I would be pleased to try and add links and more verifiable information to the listing under my name (which I did not create). Since whoever recently posted the factually incorrect orphan with fabricated quotes seemed to focus on my status as a professor, here are facts surrounding my tenure at The University of Winnipeg (UW) in Canada: I was appointed as a full tenured professor in 2008 when I resigned as the Chief Commissioner for Human Rights in another province of Canada and moved to the UW. Although my affiliation was with the Criminal Justice (CJ) department (I am a lawyer working on international and local justice issues), I was assigned to Global College as the principal (appointed at the level of dean) to help launch the new human rights degree program. At no time did I relinquish my appointment as a tenured full professor from when I arrived at UW in 2008. When my administrative term as principal of Global College ended in 2012,and the human rights degree had been successfully launched, I took the leave to which I was entitled and following that leave, I returned (still as a tenured full professor in CJ but also still assigned to Global College) to teach human rights full-time, with no administrative responsibilities. In the time I was away on leave, Global College was re-organized and the position of executive director was created and filled by the incumbent, Prof. Dean Peachey. This page is very important in Canadian feminist history and should be kept. Dean of Nectarines (talk) 06:45, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This page should not be speedy deleted because...[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (she is one of the founders of equality under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and is one of the key human rights feminists in Canada - silencing her page is silencing women's voices. I strongly suspect the Red Pen of Doom is using Wikipedia to erase feminist histories) --Dean of Nectarines (talk) 08:13, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Dean of Nectarines: Your unfounded speculations and accusations about another user are completely unacceptable. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:28, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This page should not be speedy deleted because...[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because Ms. McPhedran is a key figure in the history of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and has made important contributions to feminist work in human rights and equality in Canada and internationally. This page does not meet the criterion of being exclusively promotional. --PastoralWombat (talk) 16:54, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Error in Content[edit]

There is an error on this page. How can I correct it? I can't edit? Page says she is Dean/Principal of Global College. She is not. Mr. Dean Peachy is currently Executive Director of the College now. How can I make this correction? Muddy Waterer (talk) 15:52, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have amended that part. This page is currently temporarily semi-protected due to disruption - until you can edit the article you can leave suggestions here. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:01, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
