Marinesco-Sjogren syndromeMarinesco-Sjögren syndrome — The references given and all other language version keeps the "ö" with proper diacritics rather than stripping it to an "o". Named after Torsten Sjögren. Tomas e (talk) 12:35, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose as we should keep the english spelling (thus no diacritics). GoodDay (talk) 15:43, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can see, the English-language academic papers cited in the article uses the correct spelling of Sjögren's name. Do you have any reliable sources backing up that a spelling without diacritics is the WP:COMMONNAME for this syndrome? An opinion "don't use diacritics" without use of WP:COMMONNAME is not a Wikipedia policy, to the best of my knowledge. Tomas e (talk) 16:22, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If not, then it oughta be. GoodDay (talk) 18:13, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Per Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(use_English), the title should be that most commonly used in reliable sources. The sources offered all use Sjögren rather than Sjogren. The fact that User:GoodDay doesn't like diacritics in English is irrelevant. Plenty of English words like café are routinely spelled with diacritics; the established spelling of Marinesco-Sjögren syndrome likewise has a diacritic.--Atemperman (talk) 19:49, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. If the spelling with diacritics is what is used in reliable sources, we should follow it. Ucucha 10:40, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge into Marinesco–Sjögren syndrome. There's already an article under that title. Notice the use of an en dash per WP:ENDASH. Jafeluv (talk) 08:41, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Good catch. Yes, that is the correct title. Ucucha 08:44, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
