Requesting Changes

[edit]

After thoroughly reviewing the article, I have determined it mostly meets the criteria, however the sources for the Mr. Peanut mascot paragraph under the Mid-life and career section are only able to be viewed if you pay. Please replace these with sources that can be verified. I will put the article on hold for now. Cairo2k18(talk)(contribs) 06:40, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Cairo2k18. Per WP:PAYWALL and WP:OFFLINE, there is no distinction between using sources that are open access or behind a paywall, and sources that are online or offline. Its often the case with articles on old and academic topics that only sources available are either offline or behind a paywall. — The Most Comfortable Chair 07:36, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for informing me of this The Most Comfortable Chair, how am I able to verify it then? Cairo2k18(talk)(contribs) 07:49, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, nevermind, just found the book and I was able to verify the source. Cairo2k18(talk)(contribs) 07:55, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) What I have observed in reviews of experienced editors is that as long as it isn't a controversial topic or statement, reviewers assume good faith on those sources if they are reliable. That is in cases where it would be extremely difficult for that particular reviewer to verify the text (physically cannot access the libraries where the book is located, etc.). — The Most Comfortable Chair 08:18, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Approved

I have, in addition, thoroughly verified all references and determined everything to be valid. Cairo2k18(talk)(contribs) 08:09, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
