Yesterday I added four External links to LC Authorities (aka LCCN, LCNAF), and thus points of entry to the Library of Congress Online Catalog (aka LCCatalog), for "Marjorie W. Sharmat" and three other names.

WorldCat reports that his most widely held work is the solo Gregory, the Terrible Eater (1980), comfortably ahead of four recent Nate books and the four Olivia Sharp books, then several other solo works from around 1980.

• Craig Sharmat (son, co-author)

GND credits him with four distinct Nate the Great titles in German translation (Nick Nase) but there is no fourth Nate story, merely alternative titles for NtG and the Tardy Tortoise (Schildkröte). All the German editions were re-illustrated by one Detlef Kersten.

German Wikipedia has a biography of artist de:Detlef Karsten (1958–) and credits him with one exhibition "2001: Illustrations for a childsbook: Drawings", which makes me suspicious, but the national library GND separately identifies Detlef Kersten (1948–).[1] At a glance (Beteiligt an 134 Publikationen) I suppose that he re-illustrated all of Nate the Great in German translation. ...

We have a biography Craig Sharmat and I ramified it yesterday.

We have biographies of Nate's co-creator and primary illustrator Marc Simont and Olivia's illustrator Denise Brunkus. I have ramified both. (Here and/or at Nate the Great we should say more about the sense in which husband Mitchell Sharmat is Olivia's creator.)

ISFDB catalogs one novel written at ISFDB: Mitchell Sharmat; one "novel" illustrated at Denise Brunkus, but it's a 32-page picture book.

ISFDB catalogs a few works illustrated by each of Nate's original illustrators Simont[2], Weston[3], Jody Wheeler[4]; none by Nate's or Olivia's German-edition illustrators Kersten and Franziska Harvey. Nothing written by by Marjorie Sharmat.

For Jody Wheeler it provides birthdate and link to Brief Biographies (jrank).

Volume 15 the Pillow Case was written with Rosalind Weinman, perhaps Marjorie's sister or mother. LCCat credits her with no other work and does not help identify her.
