The BRACEGIRDLE incident is important as an episode in Sri Lanka's independence struggle. Mark Anthony Bracegirdle is not well known by his first names, which is why I have made the page simply BRACEGIRDLE. Vinodm 11:19, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have put British-style dates because these are what are used in Sri Lanka.Vinodm 11:24, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I can confirm that Mark Bracegirdle worked in the Zambia Flying Doctor Service between 1972 and 1974, since I worked with him there and he arrived after I did in August 1971. Mary accompanied him but was not permitted to work due to permit rules. Col 2 (talk) 21:34, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have removed this statement from the article, as it appears to be a personal observation with no reference provided: ** I met Mark Bracegirdle in 1967, when I rented his house in Cornwall for three years. We became good friends, and it was at that time that he told me about his past work with the Flying Doctor service in Africa. We stayed in touch throughout the next 14 years, and I am certain that he did not return to Africa during that period. Therefore, his service in Africa had to have been in the 1960s, or earlier. • Jack Barker - Princeton, NJ PKT(alk) 16:24, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
