Notability

[edit]

He received an OBE, which is definitely evidence of meeting WP:ANYBIO notability criteria. I'm not sure about the growing list of previous appointments - they're better left for his CV in my opinion. Sionk (talk) 20:56, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've discovered over the intervening years that having an OBE is not a fast track to passing WP:GNG. But based on his other awards and occasional secondary source about him, Beer might narrowly scrape over Wikipedia's notability 'bar'. I've done a lot of clean-up, removing dead links, press releases, unnecessary primary sources etc. Sionk (talk) 00:44, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Minor clarification change

[edit]
  • What I think should be changed:

Please could we change "who is co-founder of Kazakhstan law firm Seven Pillars Law" to "who is co-founder of the law firm Seven Pillars Law"

  • Why it should be changed:

Seven Pillars Law is a firm that has offices in South Africa, Dubai, Tel Aviv and a marketing office in London as well as an office in AIFC so it might more accurate not to link it to a single jurisdiction.

  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):

See: https://sevenpillars.law/

References

  • What I think should be changed: "senior advisor to Virtuzone; senior advisor to Emissary Holdings" should be deleted.
  • Why it should be changed: Both of these appointments have since ended, and as such, the wording is no longer accurate.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): I work for Mark Beer and confirm this has ended.

Done The geographical reference and the two outdated positions were omitted. Additionally, the non-notable awards listed in the awards section were omitted, per WP:BLPAWARDS. Regards,  Spintendo  10:38, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
