UK Theme on Radio 4

[edit]

It is interesting that no credible reason has ever been given for the removal of the UK Theme from the opening of Radio 4 broadcasting early in the morning. There is no reason why the UK Theme, containing a very well composed medley of traditional songs from the four countries of the UK, could simply not have been run earlier before the 'pacy' news reading.

The decision is likely to have been due to the pervasive political correctness at the BBC, an organization which incidentally receives its funding through the taxpayers' licence fee, but in which there is no public representation. Undoubtedly it will have been felt that it 'does not reflect the diversity of our community' or some such reason which Damazer may have supported. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.212.245 (talk) 21:48, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
