Spelling error? So why is "Oi" wrong, and "Oy" correct? --Commking 06:51, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oi is definitely the correct spelling I think? --Commking 05:15, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely, you think? In any case there's nothing uniquely Australian about "oi". It has been in use in England at least as long as I've been alive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.102.146.20 (talk) 11:39, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have always seen "Oi", as in the English interjection (British English, Australian English), spelled as "oi", and I have only seen "Oy" as the spelling for the Yiddish interjection, as in "Oy, gevalt!"

Oi! == White power?

[edit]

The Oi! article is about "a working class street-level subgenre of punk rock that originated in the United Kingdom in the 1970s" and mentions that "fans of Oi! were involved in white power organisations such as the National Front and the British Movement". Does Jacko's "Oi!" have anything to do with this other "Oi!"? Ewlyahoocom 05:10, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not all OI bands were white power, e.g. Cock Sparrer and the Business were not.

Please fix peak chart positions on discography

[edit]

Can somebody fix the peak chart positions on the discography? CheatCodes4ever (talk) 02:43, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think someone needs to search the 1985 Kent Music Report charts for I'm an Individual because I suspect that number 3 peak may have been Victoria only and not Australia wide. 2001:8003:5022:5E01:BCA3:182F:FA9B:6992 (talk) 09:34, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
