Hello wikipedia users here is Mark Slonikers biography and discography page. I hope I have did a good job on creating his page because I'm a big Jazz music fan. Let me know if it's acceptable because I've done my research on him. CrosswalkX (talk) 05:35, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is Mark Slonikers page not acceptable?[edit]

Hello wikipedia users.

I was the one who created a page for Mark Sloniker. I want to let you know that he is a real person and is a musician who makes jazz music.

I didn't know that this article on Mark Sloniker would be a problem for wikipedia. I only created his page because I didn't want him to be forgotten and I wasn't trying to break any copyright rules. I was trying to be respectful of Mark Sloniker.

I'll erase his biography page but I would like his discography list to remain up. I didn't know I would get in trouble. I'll do better next time. CrosswalkX (talk) 05:58, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have added two Allmusic sources and removed most of the tags. I would like to give a wet fish to those who added them and remind them that you should generally search for sources yourself before following any of the guidelines in the deletion policy. AllyD however is correct in that we need to see what your sources of information are - such as a book or newspaper article. Even just listing them here in the talk page is a good first step. Purely for the purpose of not engaging in potentially harassing behavior, I've opted not to mark CrosswalkX's other created articles with CSD, but A7 could apply to them too, specifically Kurt Bestor. GSK 22:17, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for understanding me. I'm sorry I written a rushed article on Mark Sloniker. By the way I not going to do anymore articles on Jazz musicians due to copyright rules. Even though I'm a big Kurt Bestor and Mark Sloniker fan, I'll let you take care of the articles on Kurt Bestor and Mark Sloniker for me because writing biographies on people is hard for me to do because I don't know them face to face. I'm done and I'll be careful what I do on wikipedia from now on. CrosswalkX (talk) 06:04, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a Mark Sloniker fan, too. One of his songs played on smooth jazz radio for years (in the 1990's) here in California. That song, "Speaking Without Words" is on Mark's album "Perfectly Human" which qualifies him for notability according to rule two - been on a national chart. See [1] "Perfectly Human" peaked at number 22 and was on the chart for three weeks. One thing the author of Mark's Wikipedia article could have mentioned is that Mark Sloniker has lived in Boulder, Colorado for a long time and performs in that area frequently. He may be the most well known jazz musician in Boulder, which would qualify him for notability under Wikipedia rule seven, but I'm not absolutely sure about that.Lrogers16 (talk) 04:11, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
