Deleted para

[edit]

I have reinserted a para that was deleted some time ago but with no edit summary to explain why. Sorry if there was a good reason for deleting, but it was not obvious to me. I thought the geological information, at least, shoudl be kept. SpinningSpark 00:09, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with recent edits

[edit]

While some of the material added by 71.218.235.201 is a welcome addition to this article, I edited other material out:

  • I removed some material in the "Recreation" section, because it was about Colorado in general, and not Maroon Bells specifically.
  • The material in the "Preservation" section was about wilderness permits. In other articles, this is considered to be tourist guide information, and is discouraged under our guideline on not including tourist information.
  • The "stay on trail" image is not specifically about the Maroon Bells, and does not add to readers' understanding of the area. Thus, I removed it because of our image use guideline
  • The material in the "human waste" section strayed into "how-to" instructional material, which is discouraged by the "how to" guideline. Also, the exact number of feces deposited in the wilderness is overly detailed, see WP:NOTEVERYTHING.
  • The "human waste" section also had some sentences that talked about future work required, which violates WP:NOTCRYSTALBALL.
  • The "Human-Health impacts" section was about other parks, not Maroon Bells, so I removed it.
  • The "Addressing these issues" section is, in effect, an opinion piece, and hence is forbidden by WP:NOTSOAPBOX.

The IP editor should realize that added material will be mercilessly edited: no one single person owns any material in an article. —hike395 (talk) 02:38, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Re-implemented these edits after IP editor reverted my previous work in 2019. — hike395 (talk) 14:58, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
