Profile Rewrite[edit]

Just as the title suggests. I have nothing against Marouane, but I feel that the article tends to lean towards the biased side rather than encyclopedia-formal; the piece about Pauleta is extremely biased. If I was a more experienced Wiki user, I'd do it myself, so maybe someone with better writing prowess can clean this article up, please?

I agree. It is a strange article. The section on 'Offers' within that on Bordeaux is poorly written. Also, early in the article it states he was born near Bordeaux, but later that he jumped at the chance of moving to Europe - it can't be both so which is it? Appearances and goal tally for Bordeaux[edit]

Morocco international stats[edit]

How accurate are the stats for his international career? Various profiles seem to give varying stats. [1] 50 caps, 15 goals. [2] 52 caps, 15 goals. [3] 54 caps, 27 goals. news from July 2010 53 caps, 27 goals. Also, RSSSF lists Chamakh scoring both goals against Trinidad in 2003 (that would complete his international goals tally) even if the soca warriors reference within this article says there were two different scorers in that match. When I was re-doing the entire article, I used this as my reference for international caps and goals. After updating the article and doing some research on Chamakh, there is no way in the world he scored 27 goals at this level. Transfermarket regularly copies statistics off of wiki so I think that's how the 27 goals appearred there because the 27 goals was there previously before I decided to update the article. The allafrica article may have simply copied it off wiki as well. That's becoming the m/o these days.

That's what I was thinking as well. There's no way he scored 27 goals. That would mean he has a scoring rate of a goal every other game. Anyway, that source from footballdatabase.eu, it also says that he scored both goals against Trinidad in 2003. Like I said, its the same with RSSSF and that goal should complete his list of international goals of 14 but that soca warriors references says otherwise.
