Draft

[edit]

I have begun a draft variant of this based upon the existing 3.0 article to incorporate the manned Mars mission Design Reference documents. Help is welcomed.

The Draft can be found as NASA Design Reference (Mars)

Note that NASA's "Design Reference" are not limited to manned Mars Missions, and the current version 5.0 is not entitled a Design Reference Mission but Design Reference Architecture (DRA). DRMs and DRAs exist for non-manned mission, for example, a DRM exists for Venus exploration.--cregil (talk) 15:54, 14 July 2012 (UTC) Why is this hidden? There is no Article online right now.--78.53.71.164 (talk) 18:09, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, since there can be design reference missions for many different missions, this should be renamed "Mars Design Reference Mission". Geoffrey.landis (talk) 15:13, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Moved to a single page on the NASA DRM

[edit]

I have now consolidated the page to a single article on the NASA Design Reference missions; added the dates and citations, so the flow of the process is understandable, and added some quotes explaining what the purpose of the DRM process is.

It would be good here to start adding details of what is actually in the mission plans-- but I'm out of time right now, so won't be doing this. Geoffrey.landis (talk) 13:56, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
