Just how does one expand or enlarge the painting of Martin of Aragon?[edit]

Martin of Aragon → Martin I of Aragon – Most sources uses Martin I. Out of the 11,800 results for Martin of Aragon only 61 results actually refers to the King with the majority referring to 16th century Duke of Villahermosa while 3,130 results uses Martin I of Aragon. This makes sense since he had a son and heir also named Martin and was probably expecting him to succeed as King Martin II of Aragon until his untimely death. Oppose. All the Iberian language Wikipedias use "Martin I" because it is the Iberian custom. They also refer to Queen Victoria as "Victoria I". How did you possibly conclude that only 61 out of 11,800 results refer to the King? Such a conclusion is obviously wrong, so I am not convinced that the move would be helpful. I remember seeing es:Maria Teresa I de Austria, es:Eduviges I de Polonia, es:Margarita I de Escocia, es:Juan I de Inglaterra, etc, so I supposed they had Victoria with the ordinal as well. Surtsicna (talk) 14:05, 26 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose You won't find him referred to as "Martin I" in older Spanish books but simply "el-rey D. Martin de Aragon". However, as he was also King of Sicily, an ordinal is sometimes included to clarify in the longer phrase "Martin I of Aragon/II of Sicily". Walrasiad (talk) 07:40, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Keep It Simple Stupid, although most Iberian language Wikipedias do have him at equivalents of "Martin I of Aragon", the Catalan Wikipedia has him at "Martin the Humane", so this isn't clear cut. PatGallacher (talk) 20:30, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- If there were a consensus to move away from this title, I would support "Martin the Humane". The use of nicknames for the Catalan monarch is not uncommon to avoid having to chose between an Aragonese or Barcelonan numbering, although that's not relevant in Martin's case, there is the issue of Aragonese versus Sicilian numbering.
