Additional information

[edit]

Marty Balin was lead vocalist on (and credited on the cover of) the album 'Bodacious' by the band 'Bodacious D.F.', released by RCA in 1973. The album was subsequently released on CD on November 26, 2002 by Acadia Records (ASIN: B00006JC73).

Track listing is: 1. Drifting 2. Good Folks 3. The Witcher 4. Roberta 5. Second Hand Information 6. Drivin' Me Crazy 7. Betwixt Two Worlds

Wasn't "Drivin' Me Crazy" a minor hit in the early '70's? I remember hearing it played a lot on AOR stations in the New York City Metro. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.255.110.60 (talk) 16:09, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Marty Balin is one of the giants of rock. I've added to this article before but my contributions have been edited out. This guy not only founded one of the seminal rock groups, Jefferson Airplane, but he's written scores of songs, and his voice is incredible. Can't we get with it and write an article worthy of him? Today his song 'Miracles' was on Wikipedia's main page. He was knocked unconscious on the stage at Altamont, foreshadowing the later murder at that concert. His art tour kept him from working with a band... (whatever band it was).. fine, let's get some information about his art here, too. It's got to be better than Grace Slick's, and her article is 3 pages long!. (Added more comment -- Eric) 24.27.25.87 (talk) 04:50, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Eric[reply]

Mildly autistic. That explains a few things. I'm from Ohio, have the same last name and am mildly autistic — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.133.129.56 (talk) 15:12, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article reads like an ad. Dec70 (talk) 21:28, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

His mild autism was mentioned before, but it's been edited out now. I agree, as of this date the article reads like promotional material. Although it mentions some songs he has performed, it makes no distiction between songs written by others (a few, including "Hearts") and those written by him (many). There are no mentions of notable events, such as being clobbered onstage at Altamont by a Hell's Angel. Once again, I assert that this article needs to be expanded beyond a very brief biography and the bare bones of his career. 72.182.33.219 (talk)Eric — Preceding undated comment added 14:20, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This article may be too short, but it's also in bad need of some editing. Read out loud that sentence about the people he paints. I can't make any sense of it. In fact the whole paragraph is a mess.Kanderso (talk) 04:31, 4 May 2015 (UTC).[reply]
