Ancestry Flaw

[edit]

"His ancestor, an early New England colonist named Thomas Pierce, was also an ancestor of Franklin Pierce, the 14th President of the United States."

There is no information on Thomas Pierce, and Franklin Pierce had three who all died before any of them turned 11. Franklin Pierce cannot have any descendents.

Not quite a flaw. The sentence says that Thomas Pierce, who was an ancestor of Marvin Pierce is also an ancestor of Franklin. It doesn't say that Franklin is Marvin's ancestor; just that Thomas is an ancestor of both.
