Article is released under GFDL

[edit]

This entry has been re-inserted with reference to official bio, which is released under GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL): 20070617_Mary-FullBio.pdf

I'm not sure that the line about "typically feminine past-times" is relevant. It certainly isn't very modern. And since when has (by extension) volleyball been a typically masculine sport? Could you explain why this line is here? Juvina 01:24, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah lets get this stuff outta here. It's so last century. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.81.22.39 (talk) 23:21, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Murphy's year of birth

[edit]

There have been numerous attempts at inputting numerous years into Murphy's profile. Do not put in her year of birth unless you can cite a reliable source. Based on all the previous edits, her age has ranged from 19 to 75, so all uncited year entries should be treated as vandalism. Porfirio Landeros 11:13, 03 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Listen, really... this is going out of scope here. Do you want a birth certificate? Do we have one on everyone on wikipedia?

Just look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Murphy .... it lists her as being born in 58. Simple math.... ok, March 9th birthday, 1958 birth year... its late July 2008... yeah, she is 50.

I notice an across the board attempt to HIDE her birthday. Heck, wouldnt you if you were here? Ok, I am not out to get her... heck, I think she's outrageous and hilarious. I also KNOW that we need to make sure the truth is on here and the truth is that she was born on March 9th, 1958.

Fix what you UN-fixed, thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.178.98.84 (talk) 23:42, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need a birth certificate, but you need to cite a reliable source, like a news interview, an official biography, or something other than "I know what it is..." That disambiguation page is editable as well, so someone just plopped a number in there. There have been NUMEROUS years put in her bio, so until someone can cite a reliable source ALL years should be treated as vandalism (she doesn't look 19 nor does she look 100). Porfirio Landeros 11:09, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, she graduated from high school in 1976 at age 18 which makes her born in 1958 and 50 years old. I don't have a link to a source, but this is stupid. Someone fix it. Polypmaster (talk) 02:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not everyone graduates at 18... sorry, not good enough. If you want to post the year she graduated from High School, though, feel free to post it as long as you include the credible source. Porfirio Landeros 03:13, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to this article she's 39: http://www.usmagazine.com/sytycd-mary-murphy-million-dollar-finale-performance 209.203.104.2 (talk) 20:27, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And according to this one she is 50.. http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/mary-murphy-would-like-see-hip-hop-dancer-win-dance-title-7511.php ... However, come on (to the above poster).... 39? That's just US Weekly being US Weekly. They kiss everyone's rear until they piss them off and then they appear in the worst dressed area of that rag. Come on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Glam guy (talkcontribs) 12:12, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have yet again inserted her correct age, and I am sure it will be taken out again. I find it disgusting how there has been an attempt across the Internet - Wikipedia, imdb, etc - to hid her age. To whoever is taking it down, what proof would you be satisfied with? Do you need a birth certificate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.204.188.234 (talk) 01:17, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the only one hiding Mary's age is Mary herself, by not stating it straight out, year, month and day, to some reliable source in an interview for publication. Sorry, but realityworld.com is not a reliable source. I'm kinda curious myself, not because it's her but because it's always a challenge to fill in the blanks. I have searched for a legitimate source; we should all keep looking. Perhaps a prize could be offered? --CliffC (talk) 01:37, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Personal life

[edit]

Edits made by Carlystyle to the Personal life section continue to violate Wikipedia:NPOV and are tabloid-like in nature. Therefore, I have undone them (again), but have tagged the section as disputed, since Carlystyle has already reverted the disputed changes on 21 January 2013. I'll ask for page protection if these edits persist. --porfitron (talk) 05:09, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
