The introduction

I moved the table to below the introduction of the networks. This seems a better place for it, since politics is only one aspect of a network; each network has programming that extends outside the sphere of politics.

Also, there was a duplicate N.B. within a cell of a table. Since the table has an overall disclaimer in a N.B. below it, it seems unnecessary to duplicate it, and to keep the entries within cells manageable, I shortened it.

Comments welcome.Fg2 06:32, Sep 5, 2004 (UTC)

i originally wrote this article including n.b. i agree with you. (ys)

Questions

Are Nishinippon Shimbun and Nishi Nihon Shinbun just different transliterations of the same newspaper name? [[User:GK|gK ¿?]] 17:09, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Should ANN (television) be listed under television networks? [[User:GK|gK ¿?]] 07:09, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Could someone please explain the Nippon TV = Fox News comment? I'm not sure what is implied here, and would like some clarification, i.e. is it sensationalized news, or just not "impartial", is this a good thing or a bad thing? Thanks --Weyoun6 01:01, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Also is Yomiuri TV a nationwide network, or is it a sub of Nippon TV?

answers are here: 1. ann seems television networks. however, it is relatively minor. i recommend it listed.

2. nippon tv conveys the news like fox news. there is no sensational program like o'reilly. however, it conveys the very consistent news and perspective favorable to conservatives.

3. yomiuri tv has a nation wide network, however, it is very small network. yomiuri tv seems the affiliate company of nippon tv (perhaps, nippon tv owns less than 50% of voting share in yomiuri tv. please confirm).(ys)

4. i originally wrote this article. though i used "nishinihon shimbun", i should have used "nishinippon shimbun". this one is correct.(ys)

Range block

I put up a long range block so that this page should be safe for now, while allowing for must IPs to edit, as I unprotected it.Voice of AllT|@|ESP 02:35, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

I just removed the block is the range has to be too high to work as too many Belgrade IPs are blocked. Semi-Pro might be needed again soon.Voice of AllT|@|ESP 05:30, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

declining newspaper readership

The article claims that newspaper readership in Japan is declining. I translated parts of the article into German (de:Japanische Medien), but I left that out as there is no source given. Is there statistical data to prove that claim? --Mkill 21:55, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

This artice by the World Association of Newspapers sees sales stabilizing in 2004 (+0.04%), after a small decline (-2.13%) over 5 years. --Mkill 22:02, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Project Assessment

A fine list, but very little "core" content, i.e. paragraph discussion. Should there be more, or is this intended purely as a list? LordAmeth 21:18, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
