I would argue that correcting this article is of the highest importance to both projects -- Spain and Jewish history -- because it is a product of inaccurate, simplistic antisemetic narratives that have historically stimulated misunderstanding and hatred and continue to do so today. The source n°3 used in the page:

is not reliable. As the author of it, Henry Charles Lea, is known to have mixed his own biases into his historical publications. "Although some criticized him for anti-Catholic bias"[1] "His study of the Inquisition was also criticized for anti-Spanish bias, which Julián Juderías in 1914 termed the 'leyenda negra' (a/k/a Black legend)"[2]

What actions would be better to take here? Remove all the mentions from the questionable source, or try to contextualize it?

Translated speeches of Ferrán Martínez

I triggered a copyright violation on Sep 8, 2024 for copying large chunks of his translated speeches from an article. I cited the source carefully and noted the "feel free to copy, distribute", etc. in an online source, but obviously my assumption about fair use was incorrect. If I'm understanding the issue correctly, the article became a chapter of a book which is under strict copyright.

The speeches are essential to understand Martinez and his role, and self-interested motives as a mouthpiece for Henry against Pedro, beyond simple prejudice. As I first discovered the article, it was as a link here: https://hcommons.org/deposits/item/hc:32497/

I'm reluctant now to quote or paraphrase any of the speeches translated by Soifer Irish as I don't wish to incur further copyright violations, but I contend that they are absolutely essential to understanding the Massacres 1391 and merit more than a passing reference or footnote.
