current cleanup banner in the article will need to be fixed before this article can be promoted at DYK. Additionally, I'm not sure the second hook is good. First let me say that this is a really important article, and I thank you for adding it to Wikipedia. I've done some additional cleanup on the grammar. Regarding the alts, I've struck the originals re: the comments above and am suggesting slight modifications below.

Not everyone will have problems, but the possibility of problems is higher for everyone. The alt becomes more hooky as it then sparks the question "Why is it more dangerous for these women?" @Narutolovehinata5 and Z1720: Thanks for catching that, and for your patience. I have now fact-checked and cited all of the data given in the Wikipedia article. There were a couple of places where secondary sources had rounded up numbers from the march of dimes reports, so I cited the originals as better numbers. MOD gives "34.9" as the percentage of counties in 2020, and "35.6" in Table 2 in its 2022 report. The BMJ, also cited, states "Some 1119 of the nation’s 3143 counties are maternity care deserts, a 2% increase since the 2020 report." Given that, I would like to propose the following instead:
