Article Text Update 22nd Sept 2009
[edit]The majority of the text entred here is an edit I did on the BBC News profile of Matt Baggott. Please feel free to change or add other sources. I merely added the text I did so that some information would be available on Wikipedia on the day of such an important appointment as head of the PSNI. Why has Baggott been promoted after failure?
[edit]Why has Baggott been promoted to his current position after refusing to acknowledge his outright failure and the deterioration of Leicestershire policing under his command. Ref: Fiona Pilkington case. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.159.186.7 (talk) 19:19, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Because one media story with incomplete facts does not outweigh years of excellence as evidenced by statistics and independent awards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Voiceofcommonsense (talk • contribs) 09:34, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Also, please note that this is an encyclopaedia and not a soapbox. This talkpage is to discuss changes to the article, not opinions on the subject. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:42, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Years of service
[edit]Years of service states 1969 onwards. Cannot be right. Needs to be 1979?
- Well spotted. I've removed it as I can't immediately find a source for this. Dalliance (talk) 12:00, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
