Personal Life

[edit]

Wording around suicide attempt. Previous edit made by me (changing “attempted suicide” to “considered attempting suicide”) reverted with no citation added to confirm suicide attempt.

Contradictory info in sources provided (ie: Irish Independent article states Haig “Almost” jumped off a cliff) plus, this article states “before backing out and deciding to receive therapy”. But one doesn’t “back out” of attempting something. You either attempt or you do not. Is there a definitive source on this? Haig’s interviews in depth seem reference Haig choosing *not* to jump off of a roof or a cliff in Ibiza — is there a source which references a jump?

If he considered jumping but did not, this is not a suicide attempt. This seems like an important distinction. Blindpanopticon (talk) 22:51, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Surgery

[edit]

Is it really necessary to mention that he had a circumcision under GA, aged 11? It was added by someone in December, then reverted in January then reverted back almost immediately. Is it that important we know about his circumcision? 208.127.199.49 (talk) 12:16, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you that this seems unnecessary and I don't see the significance of including it. It seems like private information to me and per the guidelines are biographies of living people we should presume in favour of privacy. Please see WP:BLPPRIVACY.
