Untitled[edit]

Why is there nothing about his military service between his graduation from West Point and his mission in Italy in 1943? By that time, he had been in the Army for over 20 years. Had he commanded anything? Gone to any schools? Served overseas? Been promoted (presumably yes, but to what rank)?Darkstar8799 (talk) 14:21, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Info[edit]

I've added crucial material on Taylor's career during the years of the Kennedy administration.Iamlondon 01:07, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • where are the references/citations for this surprising material? I'm tagging this article accordingly JGHowes 13:34, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • This material surprises me too as Kennedy and Taylor, from all accounts I've seen, which are admittedly little, had massively different views on how to handle the Cuban Missile Crisis. Based on the information here, you'd think that they'd be in agreement on any policy to do with Cuba. But I guess it is still possible for them to have been in accordance with each other until the crisis and then take different sides. Maybe Taylor's role during the CMC could be included in here somewhere? That's actually the information I was looking for. 204.209.17.254 (talk) 21:46, 15 December 2007 (UTC)mel[reply]

Orphaned references in Maxwell D. Taylor[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Maxwell D. Taylor's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "bigcoup":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 15:44, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorted. Thanks AnomieBOT. ActivelyDisinterested (talk) 21:55, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Broken English[edit]

The final paragraph of the Post-World war II section, starting, "However Taylor was actually fired by ..." which shows him in quite a different light must be by a different hand as it is in "Broken English." NRPanikker (talk) 06:16, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

word fired is not in document

Dutch Military Order of William[edit]

Somehowe the highest Dutch decoration that was awarded to Taylor has been omitted: He was made a Knight 4th Class in the Military Order of William by Royal Decree on 14th November 1946. He is wearing the ribbon fifth row from the bottom, second from the left. 2001:1C03:661F:3200:94BE:E899:F018:DC9D (talk) 15:09, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
