Miller and Taube
I was just reviewing all the comments on the talk page over the years. The February 2015 one says that Miller and Taube should not be considered a reliable source. I disagree. Mary Miller and Karl Taube are two of the most respected scholars in Maya research. Mary Miller published a huge and well researched book on the murals at Bonampak recently, among much other stuff. Karl Taube is one of the most respected researchers on Mesoamerican iconography and history. Just do a search Google Scholar for some of their work. Karl is speaking at the Mesoamerica Meetings at U.T. Austin in 2020. Mary is currently working at the Getty Museum. Karl teaches at University of California Riverside. They may wind up getting cited in BS content out of context, but their contributions are solid. Grr (talk) 08:21, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
