"The" in title of program?

[edit]

I have reverted changes made by editor 47.140.183.215 (changing the program's title to The Mayor of the Town in the lead and in the infobox.

The explanation given for that change was "fixed title - heard at beginning of every episode". Most reliable printed sources that I have found, however, give the title as Mayor of the Town. For examples, see:

Does anyone have reliable sources (by Wikipedia criteria) that indicate that the title should be The Mayor of the Town? Eddie Blick (talk) 03:57, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the same changes that were made again today. I'm still open to change if anyone can provide documentation to offset the sources listed above. Eddie Blick (talk) 22:28, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am unfamiliar with this program, however the cited sources appear persuasive for using "Mayor of the Town". I endorse the revert to that version. I've posted a message to the most recent IP's user_talk.[1] If the IP edits become persistent, without participating in discussion, it may be necessary to request the IP be blocked, or page protection. Thanks for your endorsement, but I have undone my reverts after being warned that I might be blocked for making those changes. I enjoy working on Wikipedia to much to take that risk. I would rather be safe. Eddie Blick (talk) 14:05, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have undone your self-revert. The sources clearly indicate that the correct title of the program is "Mayor of the Town", without the article "The". 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 14:35, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
