McGulpin or McGulpin's Point Light? 7&6=thirteen (talk) 11:25, 2 July 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]

USCG, Terry Pepper, and Michigan.gov all call it "McGulpin's"....Asher196 (talk) 13:21, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is a very interesting question because as far as I know, this lighthouse has never been recognized as a historic site (probably at the request of its longtime private owners) - therefore it has no official historic-site name. The underlying point is named "McGulpin Point" by the USGS [1], so that is the name I would suggest using. But the USCG's and Terry Pepper's nomenclature should carry weight, too. I wasn't taking a position, just posing a question. One could also look at the Central Michigan University link and see what they use. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 15:52, 2 July 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]
The Coast Guard's website calls the light "McGulpins Point Light". I would have no objection to changing the name to "McGulpin's Point". Bigturtle (talk) 17:53, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
