Merge proposal

I dis-agree with the note to merge this page with "Dory", Dory is a general term, and if we merge this page, we might as well merge each type of dory with Dory. If you look at John Garder's Dory book, he devotes a complete chapter to each regional type of dory. They are distinct boats although they have all a common ancestor. But that's just my opinion. I haven't had time to continue to flesh these pages out, but I'm working on it. (the boat section of Wikipedia is pretty poor.) -Gary-

It's not necessarily a bad idea to merge all of your dory articles into one place. --Smack 05:35, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Yeah but the beauty of wiki is the hyper links. Otherwise what is the point? I don't totally disagree, but a couple more paragraphs, some photos and the page would stand on its own. It is linked back to the main dory page.

Is there a particular style that would tend toward mergers vs distributed pages? -Gary-

If by 'style' you mean 'personal style', then certainly yes. Some are more inclined to "lump" topics together, while others are more inclined to "split" them into separate articles. I'm no longer convinced that these should be merged, but I did want you to consider the possibility.
At any rate, I just realized that the titles do not follow convention. I'll go change them. --Smack 06:12, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Thanks! I'm still getting a handle on this format.
