Medical monitor

[edit]

Some monitors actually touch patients? JFW | T@lk 04:13, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Bedside monitor

No consensus to move. With no support and the article listing bedside monitors as a subtype, this request really needs to have support to happen. Cardiac monitors can be used bedside or while the patient is up and walking, so limiting coverage to bedside by the title seems overly restrictive. Medical monitorBedside monitorRelisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 02:12, 19 October 2011 (UTC) The term "medical monitor" is terribly unspecific, as it may include any tool used for monitoring (medicine), such as a glucose meter used for blood glucose monitoring. Rather, this article seems to deal with "bedside monitors", as termed, for example, on the PHILIPS homepage, and should be named accordingly. Previous classification

[edit]

I moved the previous classification system to here (in box below), because I think it's unsystematic, and that a classification based on target parameter would be better. Mikael Häggström (talk) 23:12, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Monitors may be classified as:
  1. Handheld
  2. Portable
  3. Monitor/Defibrillator (usually portable)
  4. Tabletop
  5. Networkable / non-networkable
  6. Wired / wireless data transmission
  7. Mains powered or mains + battery powered
