I have added a notability tag for obvious reasons. I will possibly nominate that this be merged into the CEDU article.
Cdw1952, I suspect that you may be a relative of Wasserman?
I'm wondering where you got the biographical data that I was unable to find online, and you seem to have same last initial, and come from same part of CA as he did. Please forgive me if my suspicion is incorrect. However, if true, there would be serious WP:COI issues here. Snertking (talk) 04:30, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect your comments are slightly bizarre. This investigation of where I'm from and my last initial might seem like a smoking gun to some, but let me assure all that I have no connecton to Mel Wasserman, my last name is Washington. You will find that I have edited the George Washington article, spoooky huh? And furthermore the biographical information was added by an IP user 98.245.216.175 not by me. You detective skills are lacking. Sorry for the nasty tone but, REALLY! Now let's get on with substantive editing, ok? If you care to collaborate I'm willing. -- Cdw ♥'s(talk) 05:40, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, looks like your search skill are somewhat lacking, The bio information appears to come from this facebook page -- Cdw ♥'s(talk) 05:55, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I did in fact notice the ip address user edits. happening in rapid succession with your own. Usually when one sees that in editing, what is happening is the user is leaving the page to look for/grab citation for sources and forgets to log back in when he or she comes back. I happen to be guilty of that one myself a lot. So, my incorrect assumption was that 98.245.216.175 and yourself were one in the same. I have google set to exclude facebook from all of my searches, as is clearly not wp:rs and mostly useless for anything else i might be googling as well. It's not even close to being wp:rs. I did note that the kids names were in the obituary and put a cite for that, but most of the other family realated bio info is lacking sources. In any event, i still would say the page has wp:notability issues, and should simply be a redirect to the CEDU page. On that note, see my comments on the CEDU talk - the survivor action committee site has been defunct for a while now, and unless there are other wp:rs sources for the lawsuits (and i don't think there are - fringe site like heal-online and the like mention them, but nothing reliable that i have found), etc, that stuff needs to come out of that articleSnertking (talk) 06:20, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How about some wp:good faith, stop already. If you find fault with an article discuss it here and make changes. Stop attacking me. -- Cdw ♥'s(talk) 23:51, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mel WassermanMerle Wasserman – Why because the current name is mel wasserman and that wasn't the persons legal name. 1keyhole (talk) 00:26, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I assume the attempted proposed name is Merle. @1keyhole, see WP:COMMONNAME. If the topic is known as Mel in reliable sources more than Merle, we use Mel. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 02:04, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You're correct, it is Merle, he mainly used Merle there is half dozen in the state of Idaho business records where he used Merle and only one occasion he signed a document Mel. 1keyhole (talk) 02:21, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So I did some digging. More articles call him Mel—one in 1972 in the Los Angeles Times and one from 1979 Good Housekeeping—than Merle, per hits in ProQuest (which does not include any Idaho sources). NewsBank turns up some additional articles from Spokane and Coeur d'Alene using Mel, the Austin American-Statesman, and Mountain News & Crestline Courier-News. Conversely, no records on the subject use Merle in NewsBank. I'm left to oppose because of lack of usage in RS. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 05:27, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
