Erroneous data[edit]

Hi everyone, I had corrected erroneous data in this article. Melody was born in 1990, not in 1991. And her single title was not El baile de los gorilas, it is El baile del gorila.

Melody and Los Vivancos entered the Spanish national preselection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Moscow.[11][24] The selection process, organized by RTVE, started with an online vote on the TVE website,[25][26][24] in which Melody and Los Vivancos came in first place with 208,481 votes[27][25][28][29][30][31][32] and advanced directly to the semifinals.[28] On February 14, they performed in the first of three semifinals and, having received the maximum support from the jury (12 points) and the highest score from the viewers (12 points),[13][33][34][35][36] came first and advanced directly to the final.[13][37] In the final, held on 28 February 2009,[38][39][40][41][42] Melody (this time on her own, without Los Vicancos who withdrew due to TVE not having provided them "technical and artistic necessities")[14][12][43][44][45][46][47][48][49] received the same total number of points (22) as Soraya with her song "La noche es para mí", but Soraya was declared the winner as she scored higher in the televote.[50][51][52][53][39][54][55][56][57][58][59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75][76][77][78][79]

Melody was in the running to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. She won the first semi-final, and thus qualified for the final with her song "Amante de la luna", but ultimately came second to Soraya.

On June 9, 2014, released her sixth album. The album, titled Mucho camino por andar (lit. "A Long Way to Go"),[80][81][82][83][84][85][86][87] was released on a different record label than her previous ones, Rumba Records.[86][87] Melody recorded the album in 2012–2014.[88]

In addition to her solo career, Melody has also formed a musical duo named Melek 2 with his brother Eleazar (Ele). On June 2, 2015. the duo released its first digital single, titled "Tú lo sabes" (in its Spanish version) or "Do You Know? (in its English version).[89][90][91][92] "Tú lo sabes" peaked at number 24 on the Canal Fiesta Radio chart in October 2015.[93]
