Untitled[edit]

Donald Melville, born in Manchester, England in 1926, emigrated to the USA in 1954, graduated from Harvard Business School in 1956, was Chief Executive Officer of Norton Company from 1980 to 1988.

French film director[edit]

I added the director and the edit was reverted. This is stupid. It's an appropriate place to branch off to someone named Melville, and they have a wikipedia page already so why not join it up?

IP 69.106.232.99 - This is a disambiguation page, that has specific rules. You will see that there is a page listed under the People heading "Melville (name)" which is a page listing all people with the surname - created as a separate page because there are so many of them. It doesn't make sense to list one name out of this long list on the DAB page as well. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 01:29, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Herman Melville[edit]

I removed Herman Melville here, because I don’t think he should be mentioned there when he is mentioned on the Melville (name) page. It is a bit arbitrary to name him the most notable, I never heard of him despite him being the author of Moby-Dick (which I have heard of). I would say the Viscount Melvilles are just as well known and historically important if not more. Sahaib3005 (talk) 21:28, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
