Purpose of this article / Intent to Delete[edit]

The article seems to imply a relationship between certain dates, and the names that follow. It seems to lack notoriety and some names are associated with dates that are "after-the-fact", based on the first section. If the article's content doesn't seem to meet Wikipedia's article criteria on my next visit, I intend to request deletion, or to delete it.

It is useful to have a list of members of the GLC. In due course this list can be cross referred to the equivalent on the London Wiki. Jackiespeel (talk) 18:07, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As the LCC equivalents have 'List of members of ... dates' - this should be renamed to match (or a redirect created) Jackiespeel (talk) 15:28, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ernest Kinghorn[edit]

Is the GLC member the same as Ernest Kinghorn? Jackiespeel (talk) 16:45, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hard to say. in The Times of 19 October 1966, in an article about the GLC's and censorship of plays he is called "E. J. Kinghorn", member of the licensing committee. The MP's entry in Who Was Who [1] doesn't give a middle name or initial. Birth and marriage entries tallying with those of the MP both appear in Freebmd [2], and again no middle name or initial.
However, his address in Who Was Who is given as Hanworth, which is in Hounslow.
In the report of the 1964 GLC results (The Times, 11 April 1964, p.6, there is an asterisk next to Kinghorn's name indicating he was a member of one of the existing councils being abolished in 1965.Lozleader (talk) 11:24, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
