Not moved. There is no consensus at this time for the proposed move, and a reasonable argument against it due to the matching redirect title and other very close titles. bd2412 T 00:49, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Memoirs of a Murderer (album)Memoirs of a Murderer – The music album is titled Memoirs of a Murderer, the film is not. A hatnote at the article for the music album will serve the same purpose as a disambiguation page. --Jax 0677 (talk) 20:21, 6 January 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. Exactly. The Japanese film has three sources GNews results here very first hit Myanmar Times: "Memoirs of a Murderer – A serial killer announces the launch of a memoir on his murders. Confession or master plan? The 118 minutes long thriller was directed by Yu Irie and released in 2017." ... As for the novel being Memoir singular rather than Memoirs., yes. • Support. The album has an article and is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for this term - the only other use for this specific term is an obscure (in the English speaking world) Japanese film which is not even mentioned on WP as of this writing, much less have an article. -_В²C 17:22, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Japanese Memoirs of a Murderer remake film was/is mentioned in the Korean film article, and sourced. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:33, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per Zawl. Too many other similarly titled works. Memoir of a Murderer is in fact a bad translation to bad English, I think memoir translates better as either memoirs or memorizations, although or memory or memories is possibly better. There is nuance that doesn't translate well. It is better to have better titles. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 02:43, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Unless there is another Wikipedia article named "Memoirs of a Murderer", it is standard practice to have the the only article be at Memoirs of a Murderer, and if it comes to it, create a disambiguation page for "Memoir of a Murderer". Per WP:PRECISE, "titles should be precise enough to unambiguously define the topical scope of the article, but no more precise than that", going on to say that "For instance, Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta is too precise, as Mother Teresa is precise enough to indicate exactly the same topic". --Jax 0677 (talk) 14:48, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • User:Jax 0677, are you intentionally subtly misquoting WP:AT, or are you asserting an original statement on “standard practice”? Either way I disagree. WP:AT does not restrict consideration to other Wikipedia articles, it does refer to other “topics”. Standard practice is to consider other topics including topics associated with redirects, topics covered within larger topics (eg songs covered at their album) and topics missing from Wikipedia, and dictionary entries. Asserting that only extant article titles should be considered happens, but is controversial. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:00, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Jax 0677, verbatim as Smokey Joe. Please see Hurricane. Is there something wrong with our guidelines or are they not being read? In ictu oculi (talk) 16:33, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply - Whatever. The "Memoirs of a Murderer" album is the only work with an article. Until such time that this is not the case, the article should be moved back to Memoirs of a Murderer. A ruling of "No Consensus" defaults to returning the article to its original destination. Also, Hurricane does not redirect to "Hurricane (weather pattern)". --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:45, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"Whatever"? what kind of response is that? The "Memoirs of a Murderer" album is not the only work with an article, Memoirs of a Murderer (2017 film) has an article. What you mean is Memoirs of a Murderer (album) is the only work at that title, which is irrelevant, hence Hurricane. I'm sorry but this is how titling works on en.wp so @Kanghuitari:'s correction of the title here to (album) is fully in line with WP:AT which is a policy.
