Cleanup

I would appreciate it if someone who knows more about this topic than I would clean up this article and correct any facts as necessary. —Cor anglais 16 (Talk) 03:43, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Definition not correct

[edit]

The current explanation defines a mensurstrich by its visual representation "between the staves". However, there are also mensurstriche for a single staff, which are then written as "half-high" bar lines (typically from the 2nd to the 4th staff line, rarely also from the top to the middle line). The actual definition should be something like "lines marking equal time intervals in a metrum-free musical work" or the like - I am no musicologist and also do not have the necessary secondary literature, so a precise definition is beyond me. --User:Haraldmmueller 13:12, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
