"Her Music"[edit]

This article hardly mentions anything about her music. It just mentions achievements, but doesn't mention what songs were hits and why. For example, it makes no sense to have an article on Mercedes Sosa without talking about a song like "Solo le pido a dios" or "Todo Cambia". She was great, in part because these songs had a very unique way of talking about politics and because very popular artists did cover versions of these songs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.224.115.243 (talk) 10:07, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good grief yes, this article is in desperate need of her song list!--Tallard (talk) 07:23, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Her Album"[edit]

The article says "Sosa received two Latin Grammy nominations for her album which is nominated for a total of three awards" but it doesn't mention which album. I mean, she actually recorded quite a few... ;) Can someone be more specific? And does it belong on something about her death?

Picture with Cristina[edit]

I really think we should change the picture and put another one, just with Mercedes. This pic is too biased. This article is about Mercedes. --PeterCantropus (talk) 05:47, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the previous picture was too biased, so I changed it. The pic shown now is from the spanish version of the article. --Pablocasal380 (talk) 21:20, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Still, totally biased pictures. Mercedes used to meet with several politicians and famous people. In times when the Kirchnerism is tryin' expressly to appropiate of popular icons, those pictures are not a little thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.124.231.228 (talk) 07:31, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Immensely popular?[edit]

Sorry, but here in Mexico is not popular. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.216.199.38 (talk) 02:08, 22 January 2009 (UTC) ESTONCES SOS UN INCULTO —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.183.29.250 (talk) 20:44, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mercedes Sosa might not have been popular in the sense "Los Tigres del Norte" or "Daddy Yanki" are, but she was undoubtedly one of the greatest Latin American singers of all time (at the same level of Carlos Gardel, Javier Solis, and Celia Cruz, of whom I hope you have heard.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.87.1.172 (talk) 19:53, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

It is believed she is dead by now. Can anyone confirm?--72.88.146.176 (talk) 00:03, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Translations[edit]

Is there a translation project for her songs?

Falklands war as cause of downfall of military dictatorship[edit]

I believe it debatable that this was the sole cause of the downfall of the Military dictatorship in Argentina as stated. Perhaps a more complete statement could be added by a more competent fellow wiki editor? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.77.134.116 (talk) 01:44, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
