Peer Review

I have updated this page with images, stronger citations, and more thorough content than it had previously and would like to have it reevaluated for higher rating than simply start. Hollykatharine (talk) 21:32, 25 January 2020 (UTC)

I've started to take a look. Do you have any direct connection with the college? -- DanielKlotz (talk · contribs) 18:52, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
Response to peer reviewer

Hi, Danielklotz, Yes. I am an employee of the college, but not a PR person or paid for adding content. After receiving your question, I looked up the "direct connection" issue and realized I had been unaware of the conventions for Wikipedia and that I should have used the COI designator for proposed changes. I am relatively new to using Wikipedia, having generated only one article, and I will certainly do so going forward. I see that on the COI information page it does note that typically edits are accepted when they are "verifiable" and "uncontroversial" as the updates I have made are. They are simply factual and all are supported with references and citations. I did not mean to create an unnecessary or inappropriate appearance of bias and I will certainly withdraw my request for upgrade in rating if I have inadvertently done so. @Hollykatharine: Totally understandable. The COI policy is treated as a big deal, but it's amazing to me how difficult it has been made for users to discover – even an editor like yourself who has been involved with Wikipedia enough to create an article and get it to Good Article status. For what it's worth, I personally recommend Best_practices_for_editors_with_close_associations as the clearest and most practical overview.
I've added the necessary notification to the top of this talk page. If you add a disclosure to your user page, that will get the disclosures squared away. Since you're not being directly paid to work on this article, I don't think the {{paid}} template is appropriate. You can write your own disclosure or copy and paste this userbox template: {{UserboxCOI|1=Mercer County Community College}}
I personally have no intention of undoing the edits you made so far, but I can't speak for any other editors. I'll review the article as I am able to make time, though of course I hope other editors jump in. I just wanted to get any COI out in the open before moving on.

Hi, Danielklotz, I thought I had responded here yesterday. Just wanted to thank you for your help. I added the necessary userbox to my user page. I do, indeed, have a GA page but it is literally the only page I've worked on so I am still getting the hang of the procedures. I appreciate your patience.
