Notable alumnae[edit]

"alumnae" is the plural form for females (only) - but the list includes two men: John Sevier (medicine and science) and Bill Sinclair (law)! "alumni" is generally when males and females are listed. Meriden is a girls school - so how are two men included? 121.44.171.36 (talk) 08:55, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Confused[reply]

Meriden has at times admitted small boys to its pre-primary glasses. I was one of those boys who attended Meriden in the early 1960s when I was enrolled in Nursery and Kindergarten at Wallis Avenue Strathfield, a campus of Meriden that had previously been Wadham Preparatory School. Later at my all male GPS Sydney school I was one of three in my class who were proud Meriden boys. This problem can be solved by calling all alumni "ex-students" as it would be silly to list alumni as opposed to alumnae given that he school is predominately a girls school. Alternatively the two men currently listed could be listed under a sub-heading of alumni. Castlemate (talk) 12:58, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
