Proposal

[edit]

I think it would be a good idea to move the info about the Meskhetian Turks into a new article, and turn this article into a disambiguation page. If there are no objections I'll make the necessary changes in a weeks time. —Khoikhoi 03:35, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Khoi. That looks like a good idea to me. My suggestion is to do it this way. Three pages:
I’m not sure about the last one, however. The Meskhetians don’t differ culturally or linguistically from other Georgians and I'm afraid there's not much to say about them in a separate article. Perhaps we should redirect Meskhetians to Meskheti, a historic province of Georgia. What do you think? Kober 05:17, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was actually thinking we should keep the stuff about the (non-Turk) Meskhetians in this article, and have something like this:

Meskhetians may refer to:

  • Meskhetians (Meskhs), ethnic Georgians and the indigenous population of Meskheti (Samtskhe-Javakheti) province of Georgia).

That way we woudln't need a Meskhetians (disambiguation) page, and we woudln't have to create a separate article about the non-Turk Meskhetians. —Khoikhoi 05:27, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Go ahead, Khoi. This is the best solution, I guess. --Kober 05:33, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Green light Khoi! Keep up with the good work :) Ldingley 15:19, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then! :-) I guess I'll wait a week. —Khoikhoi 05:38, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Meskhetians

[edit]

Meskhetians are Meskhetians. They have nothing with Turks. The theme about the Turks from Meskheti can be written on another page. In Meskheti live and lived not only Turks but also Ukrainians,Armenians,Russians etc but this doesn't meen they all are Meskhetians. The Meskhetians are a separate ethnoc and Turks,Ukrainians,Armenians etc who live in Meskheti are only Ukrainians,Russians etc from Meskheti...176.73.160.76 (talk) 12:08, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
