Cartoon Network relation

Ive seen someplaces where they mention that the show has been aired on cartoon network. Somehow that doesnt make sense to me. Can anyone clear up this confusing. What does metalocalypse to do with CN? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.52.30.250 (talk) 06:17, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Thus far, Cartoon Network is the only television network to air Metalocalypse. Metalocalypse is a show that was (and is) aired during Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" block; also, Adult Swim seems to proudly feature the show on their official website. New Metal Intro?

I don't know if any one noticed but the episode Revengencers The metalocalypse intro is edited with brightly white and dark red flash's and red and white negatives of the entire clip.

Mordhouse Location

Is a fan created MySpace page really a valid source of information?

I think this should be removed to be honest.

It apparently was a fan created page, and had been deleted from MySpace. I removed the reference.

The only real evidence of dethkloks location can be taken from certain avenue signs located in certain episodes while outside, in religionklok they drive drunk down a highway, if you look closely you can spot several signs that murderface slid passed when he fell off, also when toki leaves dethklok to be trained by a old guitarist, the area resembles much of Downtown Jersey, I'm sure in future episodes the show will link more areas that we can add up.71.176.49.27 (talk) 15:21, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Due to the show's spontaneous nature, I think it's unlikely that the "real" location will ever be evident from street signs/etc... Those may be random gags, and I feel as though it's likely that the show might pull in any sign/plaque/etc that seems relevant to an episode for the sake of hilarity, even if it offers no contiguity. Running Gags

Is a "running gags" section appropriate? I have seen it with other wiki pages for TV shows. An example for Metalocalypse would be their use of the word "zazz"...or perhaps it should be at least noted that the show is "canon" enough to refer to events in past episodes, such as the constant presence of their ill-fated "deathfones"...Thesetrixaintforkids

• Skwiskgaar and his odd/indiscriminate taste in women...(BBW in one scene, the GMILF jokes, the preggo he's fucking in a music video...[she wasn't pregnant!!!!])

This may be the appropriate section (finally) for the wink wink references to metal can be included, like the three Cannibal Corpse songs featured in Nathans rant in one episode and the burger joint named after Dimmu Borgir.

Rockso definitely doesn't count as a recurring gag; he's a character. Other than that, I'd give the whole thing a green light.

The time the show is on

I would imagine that alot of people aren't aware of when the show is on, cos you don't hear about it often, and it isn't mentioned in this article unless i'm blind, but can someone put in here that Metalocalypse is on Mon-Thurs at 12:15AM, that way everyone can be aware that that is the showing of the show.--4.154.250.5 20:36, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Fictional In-Character

Hm, taking at look at the opening section, I'm pretty sure that saying that Nathan Explosion posted a blog entry to a real-world blog is perhaps a touch too in-universe and could stand to be slightly reworded. And really, thinking about it, you could say that there is a group called DethKlok in real life, it's Brendon Small et al doing performances. Vocals on "Just a Rock-n-Roll Clown"

Curious if anyone knows who does the vocals on that song. Blacha is credited with Rockso's voice acting, but the vocals sound like they could be someone else. Whoever it is, they're doing a great imitation of David Lee Roth (hell, if you told me it's actually him I'd believe it). In the episode "Go Forth and Die", when the tutor is teaching Nathan, look closely at the text that flashes through, It says "The red fox jumps over the lazy brown dog" A reference to some leet speak?

Hatredcopter

Hatredcopter, despite being done very much in Dethklok's style, is in fact listed as being by Brendon Small and not Dethklok, and I feel it should not be listed as a Dethklok song. If it must be mentioned at all, it should at least say "Despite not being a Dethklok track, it is played by Small in Dethklok's style." --Sakaki22 04:21, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Since no one seems to have voiced a protest, I have removed Hatredcopter from the track listing. New Ones

Now that just about all cartoons are in flash, how the hell come episodes come so slowly? It takes like no time at all to produce...

They still take time to write. And in the case of Metalocalypse, they also have to write and record music. Also, they are currently working on assembling a DVD and a "DethAlbum" right now. The next season was, last I heard, scheduled to begin next winter. --Sakaki22 05:25, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

A) Actually, shitty flash cartoons take no time at all to produce. B) They are contracted by Adult Swim, meaning the new episodes are aired when they say, not when Brendan Small has done the episodes. and C) As was said above, he is currently producing the first DVD and album. Agreed with The Kinslayer, as well as a point about the necessary Quality Assurance, marketability, and likewise minded artifacts recurrent and requisite of modern-day television shows! Merchandise

Until merchandise is confirmed, it should not be added to the page or it should be given its own page. The guitars are iffy, but they do have verifiable sources and some creator confirmation. There's not enough information to include the Shockertoys figures since they have a history of announcing licenses but not making it to production and there's been no creator confirmation that I've seen nor has it made and real news from what I can see. For it to be included it must be reworded and phrased to accomodate the fact that is is thus far speculative, as does the description about thier product offerings since they've only produced 1 GWAR item to date and it was an San Diego Comic Con exclusive, an unpainted test shot, that is still readily available for purchase from thier website.

This content should not be included until there is more verfiable information. If someone can provide verification through a reputable source, prefereably license confirmation by the creators, that would satisfy any contentions as to the information's accuracy and validity.

The info about the Metalocalypse toys has a source reference, the toy company itself, which is about as direct as you can get when it comes to a reference.Karpsmöm 03:14, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

This continues to be an issue with no consensus opinion. The latest version claims that there are magazine ads featuring Dethklok but does not cite which magazines. Are you serious?? Do you think this is a conspirecy theory?? These are sites posting news of what is really coming just like the Gibson gutair and such. Call Adult Swim and ask them if you want to verify it! It will be re-added untill anyone can prove that it is not really happening hows that instead?

The cleaned up version which states they are making toys like Gibson is making a gutair looks much better and I can agree now on what has been left.

Songs Section

The "Songs" section of this article, in my opinion, is an eyesore which is taking up way too much space in this article. In addition, the whole section is duplicated in the Dethklok band article. Methinks that the beginning of Skwisklok, i.e. the video clip of "Crushing My Battle Opponent's Balls" is a BLATANT reference to Yngwie Malmsteen. I mean, Swedish shred virtuoso fighting a dragon with his magnificent guitar skills within a rocky landscape of brownish/reddish colors, that's exactly the cover of the album Trilogy. Pantera Reference? Apologies for not requesting to add first, but I do think this a notable and distinct reference:

In the episode "Skwisklok", during Skwiskar's introduction to the show The Skwisgaar Skwigelf Advanced Fast Hand Finger Wizard Master Class, the announcer states that Skwiskar is there to "...teach the world the art of shredding..." - a reference to track 12 on Pantera's Cowboys from Hell album.

Here's another one I thought would be pretty obvious, but maybe not: Does anyone else think that Murderface shares a striking resemblance to Geezer Butler, of Black Sabbath? As a side note, Geezer is also a bass player. [Ghstman]

And yet he also has a resemblance to Cliff Burton. But this is as much speculation as suggesting Nathan is Glenn Danzig. So that's a no go, obviously. On the other hand, the "He blew his brain in" is without a doubt a reference to the suicide of "Dead" (Per Yngve Ohlin) of Mayhem. It actually was used as a Mayhem album cover, and the creators of this show are obviously intimately familiar with this genre of music. There are at least two other references to Mayhem (Count Grishnackh and Burzum), one of the most infamous of these bands. Anyone familiar with Varg Vikernes and Mayhem is going to know the infamous tale of Per Yngve Ohlin's suicide, including the photographing of the scene. It is virtually impossible that they could have unintentionally written the "blew-his-brains-out... great album cover!" joke without being aware of this salacious black metal lore. Doomferret

If a character genuinely looks like a person from a real band, then post something about it, but don't just assume that every character on the show is a caricature of a real person. Do you honestly think cartoonists never come up with original characters? I can understand the Butler/Murderface and Steele/Nathan associations, but the other two make no sense at all.

Although, I completely agree that for something like this you would definitely need to reference an interview with the creators where they say that a character is a caricature of a real person before you could put anything like this into the article. It's nice that you believe that, but unfortunately you can believe it all you want, it doesn't change the fact that it's speculation. Anybody can make something up about a suicide being a good album cover without knowing anything about Mayhem. I agree it's LIKELY they were referencing it, but unless it can be proven as %100 fact. Nathan looks, and has on stage manerisms almost identical to George "Corpsegrinder" Fischer, lead singer of Cannibal Corpse, a band lyrically referenced in the show. Corpsegrinder has also done voice work for the show. Skwisgaar also has almost identical looks and manerisms to Alexi Laiho, lead guitarist of Children of Bodom. As far as I'm concerned, the wiki would be incomplete without at least mentioning the obvious similarities between Metalocalypse characters and popular metal musicians. "Performanceklok" (Episode 7)- Reference to Metallica?

I know there needs to be "proof" but don't you think it's obvious? Metallica also fought and almost broke apart, decided to hire a therapist, and while it helped at first he started to think he was part of the band (As stated by James in the Some Kind of Monster Movie), then they ultimately decided he was creepy and kicked him out. Possible Demon Hunter reference?

In the episode "Murdering Outside of the Box", one of the roadies appears to have a tattoo of the Demon Hunter logo.

Season 2 Premiere

Article says it was placed on AdultSwim.com on the 22nd. I watched it and showed it to my friend Friday night (PST).

Season 1 DVD Quality - Possible "Criticism" Section?

Don't know where this might go (or if it's appropriate at all), but the picture quality on the Metalocalypse Season 1 DVD is just awful. It's in a "standard" format with black bars (instead of a true full-resolution widescreen image) and the image quality is very blocky and jagged.

It's gone because it was an arbitrary and almost endless list of original research. Metalocalypse, like most Adult Swim shows, is immersed in popular culture, and huge lists of individual items of such trivia aren't greatly conductive to making this a good article. How do you define a "good article?" Metalocalypse has lots of references to real bands/people/events, many of which have been confirmed by the creators. If there is a possible but unconfirmed reference what's wrong with saying "XXX could be a possible reference to YYY, but has not been confirmed" in the article? That's one of the things I came to this article looking for. Should we really delete information from this article because it doesn't look good, or because they won't feature this article if it's in there? Personally, I think by taking out the references section you've significantly limited the information in the article, and in my opinion, deleting whole sections of an article to make it aesthetically pleasing doesn't make it a good article. --76.16.71.212 (talk) 00:01, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Mordland's size?

The article states its size as a billion acres, making it even larger geographically than India, if my math's correct. To be honest, while fitting with the overall theme of Dethklok being larger than anything realistic in real life, I don't recall hearing them ever mention the size during the show itself.
