improper speedy deletion tag

[edit]

Speedy deletion is only for topics that do not have any attempt to establish notability. This person was a convicted serial killer, so notability being asserted should be bloody obvious, even withthe article being a stub at this time. On top of that, the person who added the tag is a new editor account created today with an extremely bizarre editing history consisting of a few minor typo edits but primarily jumping in out of the blue to AFD arguments and then going around and tagging pretty much every article I created with ridiculous tags that clearly have no justification, purely out of spite. Not only should this article not be deleted, the person who tagged it should be blocked as it is a harassment-only account, probably a sockpuppet of someone involved in the Tim Cotterill page that I listed for deletion. • The above rant is ludicrous. This article has been referred for Afd because it does not cite any references or sources, and not does not, in my opinion, meet the criteria of the general notability guideline. Wordssuch (talk) 19:47, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • The tagging for CSD actually had some basis, as the assertion of notability was not properly sourced. However, it could and now has been adderssed. The Slovenia wiki article, while interesting, is itself unsourced... but this is likely due to they have entirely different considerations for inclusion than enWiki. So that link has now been moved per WP:LAYOUT. Its available to readers but cannot be used to assert or confirm notability on enWiki. And naturally, being a mass murderer is pretty much a given for notability... per guideline in enWiki it must be properly sourced. The original single ref was to user-generated content on a non-reliable source, and so did not meet criteria. A much more suitable and definitely Reliable Source has been added, so the questionable source can either be removed or ignored. Further, I have tagged the article for expansion and requested the attention of experts. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 21:35, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
