Unique?

[edit]

The treaty is unique in that it is the only treaty officially recognized by the United States, and the Comanche, which was made between private citizens and the Comanche, yet endorsed by the Government.

Could someone rephrase this so that it makes sense? What exactly is unique about it? That it's the only treaty with the Comanche? The only treaty between an Indian Tribe and private citizens? The only treaty which is between an Indian Tribe and private citizens and which is recognized by the US? Or is it something else? (BTW, the reference originally at the end of the lede (a link, really) does not talk about the uniqueness at all. I moved it up a sentence, to where it is more applicable.) -- 00:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, it is unique in that it is the only treaty which is between an Indian Tribe and private citizens and which is recognized by the US. JohninMaryland (talk) 13:30, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
