LAT[edit]

According to the LA Times article by Ruben Salzar, MAPA's president in 1969 was Abe Tapia. ("Mexican-Americans Threaten Action for Movie, TV Jobs" January 17, 1969), in Border Correspondent. I'm not sure how to reconcile this info with what is already in the article.

Also there was disorganization in the 80s, which is not yet mentioned in this article.--Rockero 19:12, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Presidential Discrepancies[edit]

ASHAMED of mapa[edit]

Endorsing a man who is who promotes the killing of our mexican children along with the black and white population. How on earth does this make any sense, except to say your organization is so misguided and deserves not one ounce of credit from the mexican community, hear my words you are part of the problem, I ask that you renounce your position immediately while you still have time or we will have no MAPA in the future, do not overlook this grave fact, and ACT. Proposed Edits[edit]

My goals are to completely rework this article; it's fairly lackluster as is, and the information isn't sorted very well. In my rework, I plan on keeping most of these sections, adding a section on views towards this organization in the Mexican-American community, a section on comparisons with other Latino political organizations in the United States, and adding/fact-checking various pieces of historical information and descriptions of the organization. Below are some of my initial sources; there is not much information on MAPA easily available online:

Feedback

I think you have a good plan; however, I would make sure that you're not doing too much at once. I agree that there are some problems with formatting, especially the Presidents section which has some information which should be in the history or structure sections. I think your planned additions to the page will be interesting and add depth to the explanation. You have a lot of work ahead of you but I do think you make good points as to why you are choosing to rework the entire article. I would say to remain unbiased when adding a section on comparisons with other Latino political organizations in the United States. Make sure that your information presented is purely factual. It's very hard finding information on this org. I left in some of the more important sounding statements that lack citations in the hopes of eventually finding some. I also want to delve deeper into what the organization has accomplished, maybe adding an accomplishments tab.GamersRightsActivist (talk) 04:41, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
